Use of powerful bomb in Achin has not posed health hazard to local people PDF Print E-mail

Sunday April 16, 2017, GMIC: Dr. Wahid Majrooh, director foreign affairs & spokesman for Ministry of Public Health during a press briefing said, the US bombing that targeted ISIS-K tunnels and command center in Mohmand valley, Achin district, Nangarhar does not pose any health hazard to local communities. Mr. Majroh added, “The US took all precaution measures prior dropping the bomb to ensure the bomb does not pose health issues to local residents of Mohmand valley, Achin district.”

Last Thursday, US dropped its largest non-nuclear bomb in Achin district, Nangarhar. There was growing concern of health issues to local residents considering the nature & magnitude of the bomb. But MoPH spokesman said the bomb does not pose serious health risk & further added, “our initial medical assessment and evidence showed that there is no consequences as for health issue, following the bombing.”
